About Blue Basset
As a career pet-sitter, I have cared for every imaginable type of wonderful pet for 20 years and counting. After graduating college in 2006, I knew only one thing for sure: I wanted to work with animals. Naturally, I picked up a summer job as a dog-walker, then found I loved it and expanded into full service pet sitting.
In the Summer of 2018, I relocated to Maryland with the goal of running a little dog hotel out of a cozy cottage on a one third acre slice of land. Soon enough, my doggy day care and boarding service was born and full of wagging tails.
Shortly thereafter, the COVID pandemic tethered people to their homes full-time and rendered the need for pet-sitting almost nonexistent overnight. I decided to make wholesome, handmade treats for the dogs I loved and missed so much. After a bunch of absurd trial and error, baking disasters and ugly creations, what became my signature cookies finally made their debut at a local farmers market in the Spring of 2021, and they were a hit!
